The E-bookmuncher

E-bookmuncher was created by David Makinson, author of Just a one Night Stand, a novel set in the 1960s.

David has always been an avid reader, a passion acquired as a youngster unable to run around due to early health problems. His mother used to describe him as a ‘bookmuncher’ (amongst other things).

David enjoys reading most genres, though will admit that science fiction is low down on his list of preferences. He is passionate about reading as much work as he can from hitherto unkown authors.

“I never cease to be amazed at the sheer extent of the writing talent out there, a latent potential just waiting to be unleashed.”

David is very excited about the future of e-book publishing, most particularly because it smashes the snobbish literary barriers often associated with the traditional publishing world by allowing anyone to write and make their work available to anyone who wants to read it. Whilst some will doubtless throw up their hands in righteous indignation that the literary proletariat is allowed to swim in the same pond as the Literary Award winner, the fact that anyone with creativity and commitment can now access an audience way beyond their immediate friends and family has to be good news.

As an independent author, David is well aware of the challenges in gaining an audience. He hopes that E-bookmuncher will help, even if just a little, by offering e-book authors a platform to raise their profile through author interviews, and promote their work through E-bookmuncher’s published reviews on Amazon and Smashwords - the principal e-book selling platforms, and Goodreads - a leading reader’s website. If he makes a few additional friends along the way, better still.

 Just a One Night Stand was first published in paperback in March 2010 by Authorhouse. E-book versions for Amazon Kindle and Smashwords were published by David Makinson in August 2011.
